Hyperopia

An hyperopic eye is too flat and/or too short. This condition leads to the image being focused behind the retina and vision is particularly difficult for near objects. However, if hyperopia is more severe, distance vision may also be diminished. Unlike myopia, to correct this problem, we must try to make the cornea more curved or yet to increase the power of the natural lens with a lens.

This abnormality can evolve from birth till 60 years of age. This is why people having light hyperopia will experience vision problem later in life than people suffering from myopia. This light hyperopia will then appear as premature presbyopia (before 45 years old).
